Lesson Learned For Eric Staal

from the News & Observer,
Eric Staal knew his arrest would make the newspapers eventually. He never expected the kind of ink it garnered.
To wit: The full-page, front-page headline in the tabloid Toronto Sun reading “NHL Stars Gone Wild!” next to his mugshot and his younger brother Jordan’s.
“That was frightening,” the Carolina Hurricanes center said today in his first comments about his July 21 arrest. “I knew it would probably appear somewhere, sometime. I didn’t think it would be blown up into that big of a deal.
“I don’t know. I guess our name has been around a little bit the last couple years in hockey, so it turned into that.”

Cracks me up how some people think alcohol related crimes are somehow ok or not really that bad or that big of a deal simply because alcohol is 100% legal and advertised and glamorized to people of all ages. It’s also ironically funny how none of the ad’s ever mention the fact that alcohol kills more teens and adults than all illegal drugs combined….and/or how alcohol is involved in far more crimes (including assaults, rape, murder, etc) than all illegal drugs combined…and/or how people on the influence of alochol can act just as bad or worse than people under the influences of powerful drugs such as PCP. heroin, crack, etc. It’s really amazing how stupid so many humans can be about some things.

Then its a good thing they were arrested for being loud and not for being drunk.
