Let The Rumors Begin

from Adrian Dater at All Things Avs,

This was just a casual skate-around, but Foppa is slated to play in a charity game with a Swedish team named the Icebreakers this week. And, it makes me wonder how bad his foot problems are at the moment, if he’s doing this stuff.

Not this again.

As I recall last year, the issue wasn’t if his ankle could hold up to a casual skate or a charity game, but if it could hold up to the pounding of game after game after game of even a partial NHL season.

If he comes back to Colorado, it will be the same thing as last year - is he healthy enough to be in the lineup or not, and he’ll be “day to day” for the entire term of his contract.  The team can’t possibly want to put their fans through the emotional wringer like that again.  That’s just cruel.

I’m having real trouble determining what the problem with that would be.

It still amazes me that the people in Colorodo (and this doesn’t pretain to our Red Wings spies over there) still will tolerate the all-too-familiar antics from Foppa.  Though I’ve always resented the Avalanche “faithful” due to the fact that they INHERITED a good team from Quebec (thank you Eric Lindros) and therefore never gave them much credit to begin with.
