from Pat Hickey of the Montreal Gazette,
Across the league, attendance is up 1.2 per cent from last year, but a close look at the numbers indicates commissioner Gary Bettman’s boast about a healthy league might be a tad optimistic. While attendance through Nov. 10 is up 1.2 per cent, the entire increase is because of a phenomenal turnaround in Chicago....
The only good news when you look at the struggling franchises in Long Island, Nashville, Florida, Atlanta and Columbus is that there is no shortage of teams that would look good down the line in Winnipeg, Hamilton, Kitchener-Waterloo or Quebec City.

Kukla’s Korner is always a free service for readers, but it costs some money to maintain. If you’re ever in a position to donate a few dollars to help out, we’d be very appreciative.

In these times, most businesses would love to have any positive results; only in hockey do the scribes spend so much energy finding fault with the way things are going.
