...even if it’s difficult to identify which moves bolstered a team for the playoff drive, you can safely predict that seven of the contenders will eventually be identified as losers in the end.
In this new era of definitive buyers and sellers at the trading deadline, the upside is almost always with the sellers. The issue for them becomes, turning the assets they acquired at the deadline into bonafide NHL players — something that is easier said than done.
