Looking for Mike?

A week or so ago, Mike Chen’s blog exploded. Today he’s “kinda” got it back up and running and since many of his readers have been referred here for updates, we figured we should pass the word.
Incidentally, you’ll remember another suicidal blog incident a couple weeks ago and bad things are supposed to come in 3’s, right?
Time for everyone to get paranoid.

I’ve learned my lesson now, believe me, but even with the added security features and backups I still don’t take it for granted now.
Glad to see Mike’s up and running again and here’s hoping nobody else suffers the same fate as he and I did.

What, like you weren’t paranoid before?
Seriously, when Spector’s blog got bombed during a vacation that he declared he’d be taking, that spooked me, big time. I’m all for open and honest discussion with readers, but I also believe that there’s nothing wrong with asking your site administrator to put some razor wire around your physical server (hey, why not?) and beefing up the security safeguards.
Mind you, a person who’s still using a wired internet connection behind a firewall and physical router because he’s paranoid is writing this, but still…
