Malik Status With Rangers In Question

via Blue Notes at Newsday,

Defenseman Marek Malik’s equipment was not in his practice locker and could be on the move.

“Right now it’s just an internal matter,” said Tom Renney. Asked if Malik would be at tonight’s game, Renney responded:."That’s to be determined.” Asked if he was suspended, Renney declined to answer. Asked if he was still on the team, the answer was: “He’s a Ranger.”

For how long, who knows?

Renney wouldn’t confirm that the 6-foot-6 Malik, 32, an unrestricted free agent who has played just and the target of Garden boo-birds all season, was being traded. Malik was scratched for four of the last nine games.

Sorry man, but the only time that the words “Malik” and “amazing” should ever be used in the same sentence, would be if you said “it would be amazing if any other team would take Malik.”

Matt, I think you have to allow for one more case: that in-between the legs shootout goal he scored.  That was amazing.

that was the greatest shootout goal ever.  if only because it was marek malik going between his legs in the 15th round of a shootout

This is all a lie!  I’m a helluva hockey player!  I...Oh, wait, it’s Marek, not George

I hope that my probably-distant-relative catches on with another NHL team.  He’s a mediocre NHL player, but he deserves better than serving as the butt of jokes and subject of derision in NYC.
