from PittsburghPenguins.com,
Head coach Dan Bylsma announced that forward Evgeni Malkin will miss 2-3 weeks with a shoulder injury. It is not the same injury that kept Malkin out of the lineup during the beginning of the 2006-07 season and the team is being cautious.
“Geno is going to be out of the lineup for a couple of weeks,” Bylsma said. “He strained his shoulder about 10 days or so ago. I don’t know the exact day. It is precautionary for the player. We are worried about the safety of the shoulder. A couple weeks of rest and rehab will get that thing healthy so he can get back onto the ice.

Good stuff for Letestu. Only heard great things from Bamboulie about him last and this year. Hopefully his first NHL game is tomorrow.
So anyone know if he’s from Elk Point or Saskatoon? Conflicting reports.
Really nice that it looks like Crosby’s line has really started to heat up the last two or three games.

The last 2 years Malkin really stepped it up when Crosby was out. Lets see what happens with the roles reversed. Sid has started out unusally strong in the goal scoring department this year

Malkin, Franzen, Kovalchuck, Gagne, Hossa. That’s close to 450 points on LTIR right now with just those players.

Lets see what happens with the roles reversed.
He played his whole first season without Geno.
And went :81, 39-63-102,-1. How’s that ?

Well...this kind of messes up the lines but I don’t think bylsma will really mix up the 3rd line. Kennedy is day to day and I think Talbot is coming back soon. Still, fedotenko and dupuis are going to need to step it up somehow.

I still don’t think that the Pens need to worry about anything. They’ve still got the depth to win games. It will be harder to win games, but not impossible. I don’t think this is going to effect where they end up in the standings.
