Evgeni Malkin wants more. A lot more.
The Penguins’ prolific center thinks about piling up the trophies every time he looks at his hands. It has nothing to do with how soft those big paws are on shots or passes.
He just sees possibilities that make the team’s successful Stanley Cup run last season one to grow on.
“That was last year,” Malkin said this week as training camp got under way. “I want to win one more time, two, three more times. I have 10 fingers on my hands, and I want to win 10 times. Why not?
“I want to win a couple more trophies, a Hart Trophy. We have a good chance to win. Why not? We’re young kids.”

Hey wings...i know you think your team is unstoppable now with the motivation Crosby and co. provided this summer. Malkin sounds like he smells blood in the water, and he wants more. If you thought he was pretty good in 09’ wait till you see the 2010 version. The wings are definitely stagnant they haven’t gotten worse but haven’t improved either, just have a different look with the new players. The pens have just as much motivation, teams don’t need much considering what’s on the line, we tasted victory and now we know what it takes to win(Bettman is still the commissioner) Most of you haven’t watched Crosby and Malkin every game since their debut...without comparing them with anyone, both have made vast improvements each year.
P.S. Crosby has changed his stick to all composite with a slight curve and has decided he needs to shoot more. When a player with his skill focuses on a single aspect of his game it usually improves...see:Crosby, faceoffs...watch for 40 goals from him, barring injury...that is an expectation not a prediction
