My understanding he took a knee to knee hit from Glen Murray.
Will be re-evaluated tomorrow according to FSN Pittsburgh.
added 9:59pm, via TSN,
Marian Hossa’s first game as a Pittsburgh Penguin ended pre-maturely as the Slovakian sniper left after suffering a grade 1 strain of his MCL.

alright, I will say what everyone is thinking:
If he would have been traded to Detroit for a back of pucks, none of this would have happened!

They’re saying slight MCL sprain, out maybe a week.

Sprain….we will see, hopefully its not a 4-6 month reconstruction.
In that case, was it worth all that for 10min 33sec of Hossa in a Pens uniform.
I understand what Shero was doing. He figured he could come out of the East by picking up Hossa…maybe he is right, but this is just getting worse and worse.
If Gino goes down the team wont win a game.

I was at the game and the Pens were just plain flat (other than newcomer Pascal Dupuis). I think loosing Armstrong has really hurt team chemistry and has led to them losing their energy.
My friend told me that on the NYI broadcast of the game the day of the trade deadline they said that all of the players planned a prank to play on Armstrong where they packed up all of his stuff to make him think he’d been traded…turns out he was and he was crushed. None of the players ever thought that a guy who could be considered their heart and soul would be shipped out.
