Numerous sources reporting Toronto has waived Mark Bell.
Anyone want him for $2.5M?

The Toronto Maple Leafs placed forward Mark Bell on waivers on Monday, while the Calgary Flames have put defencemen Anders Eriksson and Rhett Warrener and forward Jamie Lundmark on the waiver wire.

I’ve got $1.25 mil, anyone want to go halves with me?

Right now the Kings are looking at starting with up to five rookies on opening night. It wouldn’t surprise me in the slightest if they picked up someone from waivers or made a trade in the next few days to avoid having to rush someone like Simmonds or Moller or Purcell.

Retarded. They bought out Tucker but not Bell, now they’re trying to waive him? Tucker has always had trade value, as opposed to Bell.
Bell = worth much less than 2.5 million
Tucker = worth about 2.5 million… that’s why he was re-signed by Colorado at the same price he was making with Toronto

Tucker’s time was done in Toronto. They had to move him and the league knew it - so why would anyone trade with them… and at 3 mil Tucker was overpaid. He still is at 2.5, and the Avs will find that out mighty quickly.
I was hoping they would keep Bell, but there are too many cheap young forwards who would accomplish the same thing at less than half the cost. This team is not challenging for anything, so why carry that salary for the season? They still may, but at least they are trying to move him…

If he was still the 25 goal scorer Mark Bell, I’d say the Pens could use another left winger, where they are pretty weak. But seeing as how he had 11 goals 2 seasons ago, and 4 goals last season, I’d pass.
