Gleason received five for charging, a ten and game misconduct.

That’s a headshot, but it’s certainly not a charge; his feet are on the ice and he takes like half a stride, nor is there a blanket ban on headshots.
Not a ‘new rule’ violation either. Perrault sees him and it’s not a back-pressure hit.
Elbow’s tucked too. Shame Perrault’s hurt, but I don’t have a problem with this hit.

Not really boarding. Might have been blindside by that new rule since his head took the shot.
Hendricks should have had the instigator. Why does that rule exist if it’s not called in this situation. The Caps have been on the other end of that a couple times this year too.

I watched the clip quite a few times, and I really think the hit breaks the guys stick and the stick hits his face and thats what created all the blood?

Agreed. It looks like he hits his face on the ice too.

Perreault, who scored a goal earlier in the 1st period, did not return to the game after this hit.
