from NHL.com,
Pittsburgh Penguins forward Matt Cooke has been suspended for two games, without pay, as the result of a deliberate check to the head area of New York Rangers forward Artem Anisimov, the League announced Sunday.
Cooke delivered the hit Saturday during the third period of the Penguins’ 8-3 win over the Rangers at Mellon Arena. He was assessed a minor penalty for interference. Anisimov did not return to the game.
After Cooke served the two minutes, Donald Brashear of the Rangers attempted to engage him in a fight, but the officials stepped in between the two and Brashear was assessed a double minor for roughing.

Agreed. Cooke should be suspended, but the league lets Ovechkin run wild without punishment. It’s a matter of time before he seriously injures someone.

Another thing with Ovechkin…he’s going to hurt himself if he doesn’t reign himself in.

It’s a little tiresome to drag past events into every new suspension discussion. Yes, Richards’ hit on Booth was just as nasty and intentional, and Ovechkin has a hazardous style for himself and others. The cases won’t be revisited unless (perhaps) either perpetrator repeats their reckless behaviour, so it’s irrelevant in the case of Cooke.
I like having Cooke on the team because he has decent hockey skills for an agitator, but there’s little doubt about this one. The suspension is correct. Next.

But JAWS because he is a “STAR” can run people all the Time & not get suspended
He will end up Paralying or Killing a Player with his Charges that he does & then the League & their ASS KISSERS will be sued & I hope they OWN the League when it’s Over
