from William Houston of the Globe and Mail,
His work on TV includes studio commentary and game analysis. For the coming NHL season, he will double as NBC’s game analyst and also intermission-show host with recently hired commentator Mike Milbury.
“Between periods, I’ll be scrambling to get to the right location to work with Mike,” he said.
McGuire sees the intermission spot more as dialogue between two commentators than a conventional host-analyst relationship.
“I think what we’ll be doing is breaking down the other games that are being played, providing highlights but also talking about the important issues surrounding the game,” he said. “I think we can create a situation that can be insightful and entertaining.”
