from Natasha Korecki of the Chicago Sun-Times,
An Erie County grand jury has passed on felony charges against Blackhawks star winger Patrick Kane but indicted him and his cousin this afternoon on misdemeanor harassment and theft charges.
Erie County District Attorney Frank Sedita said in a statement: “Patrick Kane will not be prosecuted more leniently or more harshly because he is employed as a hockey player.” The charges come following testimony from “all known witnesses, including a witness suggested by defense counsel,” according to the statement.

If the MSM is doing their job, they’ll look up every case that’s similar to this one and see what the charges were. I’m betting more than half of those cases resulted in much higher charges.

It is fairly common not to see felony charges with these types of cases. Seems like they are treating this case consistently.

Third degree assault, theft, and harassment, yet no mention that Kane was drinking illegally. Minor yes, but c’mon.
Psst, Paul, you’re missing an ‘r’ in ‘misdemeanor.’
