from Mike Boone of Habs Inside/Out,
The Canadiens took one of a possible 12 points on their road trip.
They are clinging to a playoff spot, and the future of their most talented player is uncertain.
Things couldn’t possibly get worse, right?
Wrong.
La Presse columnist Richard Labbé is on 110% (TV show) promising a blockbuster story in Friday’s edition of the paper.
It pertains to the suggestion, by former coach Jean Perron, that some younger Canadiens have been enjoying too much of Montreal’s celebrated nightlife.
Boys will be boys, right? This is a great party town.
Labbé says this is more than a few beers, a few shots and some late-night skirt-chasing. He’s hinting at behaviour that brings criminal charges.

And from the Montreal Gazette,
One of the suspects arrested this month in a Montreal police operation targetting organized crime is closely linked with Canadiens’ players Andrei and Sergei Kostitsyn, La Presse reports in its Friday edition.
Pasquale Mangiola, who faces drug-trafficking and illegal weapon charges, is a close associate of the brothers and spoke to them often, La Presse says.
The three were often seen together at local bars and restaurants, the French-language newspaper reports.
Canadiens defenceman Roman Hamrlik was also acquainted with Mangiola, La Presse reports.
The gossip is only the latest problem facing the team, following a string of game losses.
Montreal police on Friday refused comment on the anti-gang operation, Project Axe, as well as the rumours circulating about the Canadiens’ players.

This whole thing sounds to me like it’s been a bit blown out of proportion. Not saying there isn’t maybe something there… but I’d doubt it.
And I can guarantee the Habs media will be all over it, because if they’re spending their time on that story they won’t have to address the real story about their team slowly choking away the season…
