More Of A Mess In Edmonton Now That Souray Is Out With Broken Wrist/Hand

from David Staples of The Cult Of Hockey,

Souray and Iginla had a nasty, nasty fight, where Souray was throwing wild shots and was clearly out to hurt Iginla as much as he could.

I don’t blame Souray for his outrage. Iginla had hurt him bad. And, the fact is, the NHL should have suspended Iginla for ten games for such a reckless play. With the NHL refusing to properly police its own players, the law of the jungle applies, and it’s hard to blame Souray for wanting to pulverize Iginla.

I now read that Oilers coach Pat Quinn says Souray has fractured his wrist (is that the same wrist where he took off the wrist-protector before fighting Iginla).

Great! Just #$%@#$A!@# great!

Way to go Sheldon Souray! Way to go Kevin Lowe! Way to go Steve Tambellini!

If Tambellini actually had a chance to move Souray before Saturday’s game—and I certainly don’t know if he did or not—it’s even more frustrating to think about this whole mess.

more and watch the fight below…
