from Sean Gordon of the Globe and Mail,
The legal travails of former Silicon Valley venture capitalist William “Boots” Del Biaggio — a former part-owner of the NHL’s Nashville Predators — are about to deepen.
Federal prosecutors in California have charged Del Biaggio with fraud, and the U.S. national securities regulator has slapped him with an injunction as part of a $65-million scheme to bilk a raft of small investors and several banks.

Kukla’s Korner is always a free service for readers, but it costs some money to maintain. If you’re ever in a position to donate a few dollars to help out, we’d be very appreciative.

It never fails to amaze me that the NHL and Bettman in particular will allow corrupt owners such as Biaggio of the Predators and Samueli of the Ducks to continue to own and purchase teams but keep blocking legit owners and hockey fans such as Jim Balsillie from purchasing teams for fear of another NHL franchise being brought to Canada.
