More to the Draft Than the Draft Picks

But the best part of the draft is the wheeling and dealing that happens when 30 NHL general managers gather in the same city. Last year, trade rumors surrounded eventual Conn Smythe winner Tim Thomas and Vancouver sent a huge package to Florida for Keith Ballard. Two years ago, Anaheim shipped Chris Pronger to the Flyers in a trade that catapulted the Flyers into Stanley Cup contention.
This weekend will be no different. Here’s what to look for this weekend in Minnesota beyond the draft picks:
