“It must be something about the way Sean looks out there in his helmet, because people want to kill him but Sean was as disciplined and as focused as ever.
“I don’t want to sound corny about it, but I think we’re all proud of him.”
-Chris Drury on Sean Avery. More on the Rangers win over the Devils from Larry Brooks of the NY Post.

Avery was at his agitating best last night. No crazy stuff, just an annoying presence on the ice every shift. And watching him keep his cool while being thrown around like a rag-doll by Clarkson was hilarious…until one of the ref decided to also give Avery two minutes for “roughing”.
Apparently his jersey twisted around Clarkson’s hand as he was being thrown to the ice and hurt the big guy, so the refs felt it was only fair that Sean be penalized. Either that or he got the two minutes for being, well, for being Sean Avery.
