Good lord. Brad May is a Red Wing, signing a one-year, $500,000 deal. He’s a teammate of Todd Bertuzzi again (as they were in Anaheim a couple years ago).
I’d say this is further proof the Wings are on the way down, when Brad May is the most desirable signing option right now.

Daggers from Dater are as harmless as the Av’s last couple of seasons.

Every team neads a guy to keep the flies off.
If not Brad May, then Aaron Downey, but the Wings must have a fighter.

Haha, way to go Dater, you’re acting like they signed May to play on the second line.
It’s called “organizational depth,” and every offseason since the mid ‘90’s, Detroit has gone out and targeted fringe NHL/AHL veterans both to fill out their AHL club, provide depth and experience for the NHL club, and generally just hedge their bets all around.

Could you please change that to “Read less from Adrienne”, Paul? Thanks.

Talk about a guy with fixation… geez. Hey Dater, your team is 3-0. You might want to concentrate your limited viewpoint on the good things your team is doing right now instead of fixating on a team that has left you in the dust. You remind me of all the Pen(i)s fans who couldn’t enjoy their Stanley Cup but had to come on A2Y to demand respect and berate our city instead.

I disagree. Having a goon play 3 shifts a night to fight the other team’s heavyweight isn’t going to do anything to the Corry Perrys and Sydney Crosbys of the world. Either you have a tough guy that can skate with your team and protect them against the other team’s dirty players, or you’re filling a roster spot on a useless player. Or the NHL could start calling infractions after the whistle.
I hope Brad May brings more to the team than that, but Downey didn’t.

I was lukewarm on this signing at first, but if it makes Adrian “Sour Grapes” Dater unhappy, then it makes me happy.
