Morning Line

“I hope there’s guys disappointed in there.  There had better be, because we found ways to lose two games here and we’ve got to find ways to win games.”

-Flames coach Brent Sutter after losing to the Wings last night.  More on the game from Randy Sportak of the Calgary Sun.

The Wings outplayed the Flames.
They won the individual battles.
They looked like the Wings of early last year.

I don’t know what was worse to watch as a Flames fan, seeing Iggy failing to clear that puck out of the zone or Regehr doing very little to stop the Franzen blast from the point that Holmstrom tipped home for the winner.

Of course, that 4 minute powerplay was a sight to behold early in the 3rd period, wasn’t it?  Yeesh.

Or the penalty shot, keep in mind the number of posts the red wings hit last night as well. Straight up, Detroit wanted it more. I am scared because Detroit has a much easier schedule going into the playoffs and the Flames have only scored 2 goals in 2 must win games.
