“You hit a guy without the puck, you can kill a guy. It’s the most dangerous hit in the history of the game. And he tried to hurt him. If that’s not intent, that’s as bad a hit that you can ever have in the game.”
-Chicago coach Joel Quenneville talking about the hit on Brent Seabrook. More at Ducks Blog (pointing to the home page) and also at Between the Circles.

Quenneville defines sandy vag. He wasn’t outraged until Seabrook got hit. Now it’s the invasion of Poland. Cry me a river, Q.

Plus it’s not like Seabrook is an innocent here. Did he deserve that hit? No, though he was not innocent. I dislike Corey Perry tremendously but Seabrook did take a run at him and delivered a head shot of his own.

Wait, is he talking about Seabrook’s hit on Corey Perry… sure sounds like he is.
Mmmm, double-standards…

The problem for the league is do you go after the guy with intent or the guy who caused injury? Wisniewski clearly had more intent to injure then Ovechkin but Ovechkin caused the more severe injury. Campbell admitted on NHL LIve that Ovechkin would not have been suspended if B Campbell had not been hurt. Which last I checked is not supposed to be part of the logic in suspending guys.
