Paul Kukla’s blog at NHL.com today is full of random observations and questions. For instance:
Quick quiz—During the last eight seasons, this NHL player has not scored more than 30 goals, but has had at least 20 goals a season during that time period. He also plays for my surprise team for the upcoming season. Any guesses?

“I was expecting, “Great Save Luongo,””
Classic. It always tosses me for a loop hearing him call baseball or even hearing Cuthbert calling CFL games.

I’m pretty sure it was said tongue-in-cheek, but wind’s mostly a non-factor in a hockey game, since players on both teams generally move up and down the ice in the same direction at the same time and its effect on the puck will be negligible. I guess each faceoff with the wind at your back you might net an extra 5 feet of skating with the wind, though.
No clue on the player, and I was a little disappointed not to find the answer after the link.

ahh I was going to guess Mark Recchi, but Doaner makes sense.

You are only partly right Ryan, the netminder with the wind in his eyes for 2 periods has a definite disadvantage.

The first player to enter my head was Marco Sturm, who has been consistently decent for years.
Maybe Mike Knuble?
I don’t think either of those guys have 8 years, but they are close, and I could see either the Flyers or the Bruins surprising this year.
Yeah, it’s probably Doan.

I’ll take a stab and say Shane Doan; although didn’t the Coyotes gut their defense to obtain Jokinen?
