PREDICTIONS FROM NBC’S NHL BROADCASTERS:
Hull: Sabres in 6; Red Wings in 7; Senators in 6; Ducks in 4
Clement: Sabres in 6; Red Wings in 7; Devils in 7; Ducks in 5
Olczyk: Sabres in 7; Red Wings in 7; Senators in 7; Ducks in 5
HULL ON DETROIT:
“They are a very, very skilled team and push back in a smart way. They have a little more depth, a little more skill and a little more poise than San Jose plus the home ice advantage, which is going to be the difference-maker in this series.”
MCGUIRE ON DETROIT’S TEAM TOUGHNESS:
“They rallied around people questioning their toughness and have a little bit of a chip on their shoulder. They are tired of hearing that they’re old and that they’re soft. Mike Babcock wanted a team that could play with an edge and he’s got that with this team.”
MCGUIRE ON BUFFALO-NEW YORK:
“It’s a great goaltending showdown between Miller and Lundqvist but that’s pretty even so it’s going to come down to the skill factor. Speed has caused the Rangers problems this year. Buffalo is going to have to play a supercharged, high-octane game to pressure the Rangers and hope their defense can contain Jagr and Nylander.”
