from Empty Netters,
After watching Adam Hall, Georges Laraque, Ryan Malone, Gary Roberts and Jarkko Ruutu leave town the last few days, it’s more than fair to wonder if the Penguins have lost an edge in terms of how physical they’ll be next season....
Here’s another quick, hypothetical list of what we would call physical forwards who are unrestricted free agents:

yup, Cherry’s fascination with Gary Roberts was curious, he couldn’t compete at the high level of play between the Wings and Pens. physical play and sucker punching people are different things.

Kukla’s Korner is always a free service for readers, but it costs some money to maintain. If you’re ever in a position to donate a few dollars to help out, we’d be very appreciative.

While they have a good point, the Penguins didn’t lose to Detroit because they weren’t tough enough, they lost because they were outplayed. Sure, we need to compete with the tougher teams of the East, but don’t bring in guys just because they’re tough. We want guys who can play, and if they happen to be tough (like Ryan Malone), then great.
