Darren Dreger on TSN is reporting that Scott Niedermayer will be staying in Anaheim. He’s signed a 1 year deal worth $6 million, plus bonuses.

“Keeping Scott Niedermayer in an Anaheim Ducks jersey was paramount for our club,” said Executive Vice President/General Manager Bob Murray. “We’re extremely pleased he’s chosen to remain with us and look forward to another great season from a Hall of Fame-bound player.”

Alright Scotty…good to have you back in OC for another year! But really, how could you want to leave Cali…...surf in the day and hockey at night…...it’s the perfect combo…..although you may to keep your salary on the down low….as our Governor maybe be looking at you for a loan….
Oh yeah, since you’ve got Mr. Murry’s attention, tell him to get James Wisniewski signed up ASAP would ya?!!

I’m sure Neidermayer(dead!) stayed up multiple nights pondering whether he was going to milk “the Franchise Emelio built” of another $6 mil for one year. Actually, he was just probably too stoned to realize that the Free Agency was coming up. At least you get to stay in sandle weather for another year!
