Niskala Off To Tampa

The Lightning announced it traded for Flyers minor league defenseman Janne Niskala, and sent the Flyers a sixth-round 2009 draft pick.

Niskala, 26, was acquired by Philadelphia on June 25 from Nashville for forward Triston Grant and a seventh-round pick in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.

Well, so much for Baroque’s theory about having a team of just forwards. This proves the Bolts are serious about defense as well. smile

I think it’s just a smokescreen. They’ll probably flip Niskala to Montreal for the right to borrow the rights to Mats Sundin for 15 minutes before the deadline. smile

this was a trade that flyers shouldn’t made. Janne Niskala threaten to play in russia if he didnt get a one way contract. holmgren should of done his homework before making this trade
