from Tarik El-Bashir of Capitals Insider,
Discussions to have the Caps face the Canadiens at Olympic Stadium in Montreal on Nov. 28 are dead, a source confirmed this morning.
The teams will instead contest the game at Bell Centre as scheduled.
There had been preliminary discussions about having the Habs host Alex Ovechkin and the Caps indoors at the stadium, which can seat more than 70,000 fans. But those plans were scrapped, I’m told, because of the possibility of the CFL’s Alouettes playing deep into the postseason.
