No HD For ECF Game 1

Just got off the phone with Versus and game 1 of the ECF will not be broadcast in HD.  They have a commitment to show the golf show from the TPC.

So the Pens/Flyers game will only be in SD, so set your DVRs properly if recording.

added 9:36pm, As a few KK readers pointed out, the Flyers have a schedule up Friday’s game that lists both Versus and MOJO HD.  That will help some folks out, others will not be so lucky.

When I spoke to Versus today, they told me no other channels would be broadcasting the game in HD in the US.

Update 2:18pm ET May 9th: Good news update… HD for the game!

That’s pretty disappointing from both Vs. and the NHL.

the NHL should at least get the CBC HD feed on NHL network or centire ice if versus will not make an HD feed available.

Why can’t they use MOJO like last year?

Why can’t Gary Bettman admit Versus is a joke after this year and ask ESPN or Fox or anyone who is a standard network to take them back, play twice as many games at half the cost?  I doubt the twice the games thing would happen, but at least ESPN could then stop playing World’s Strongest Man competitions from 1975 and female pool tournaments.  Actually any pool tournament for that matter.

AO, I just saw that on CSN Philly’s sportsrise, they’re advertising the game as in HD on MOJO also. Good news for cable subscribers.
