No Love For Avery

from Chuck Gormley of the Courier-Post,
Include the Flyers on the long list of NHL teams that have no respect for Sean Avery.
After seeing the trash-talking, agitating forward score two goals on Sunday to lead the New York Rangers to a 3-1 win in front of a Madison Square Garden crowd that spent much of the game chanting his name, the Flyers took a few bare-knuckled shots at Avery through the print media.
“I played with the guy and dislike the guy,” said Flyers winger Ian Laperriere, who played parts of two seasons with Avery when both were members of the Los Angeles Kings. “I think he does cross the line all the time.
“Those people (in New York) are getting fooled by his act because I know he’s the worst teammate I played with and I know they feel the same way.”

He does cross the line, however, as you can see from the score sheet on Sunday it works. Look no further than him goating two Flyers into taking penalties. Call him what you want, it resulted in power plays for the Rangers!

The dropping one glove is borderline douche baggery, but par for Avery’s course.
When you get to the point you want to drop’em with him, he’s already won. Same with the penalty Pronger took the big lug lashes out & puts his team on the PK.

If being rude, crude, and obnoxious wasn’t effective he’d stop doing it. But it works for him every time.

It’s not like he’s injuring anyone. If they can’t deal with a few mind games, then too bad.

By saying this kind of personal defamation to the media, Ian Laperriere just used the same technique Sean Avery used when he made the comments that got him suspended, sent to rehab, and traded from the Stars.
What is really that different? It’s still an attack on ones character through the media.
Ian should be sent to rehab now!
