from Rich Chere at NJ.com,
Brent Sutter remembered being nervous before his NHL debut with the Islanders in 1980-81, so he skated over to Devils rookie Anssi Salmela during Friday’s morning skate to monitor the Finnish defenseman’s mood.
No problem.
“I just asked him how he was doing,” Sutter said after the skate. “He said, ‘Let’s get at her.’ He must be doing fine. Kind of cute.
“The kid has ice in his veins. He’s pretty calm about everything, although I’m sure he’s like a duck in water.”
