from Scott Howson at the Columbus Blue Jackets website,
Our fans have been remarkably patient with our franchise. We understand the anger and frustration that has built up over the past decade makes this about more than just the present. All I can tell you is that we are working together to look for solutions every day.
I am an admirer of Bill Walsh and in his book “The Score Takes Care of Itself” he emphasizes that after any setback you have to tell yourself, “I am going to stand and fight again.” We can’t change the first eight games, but we will stand and fight starting tonight. We will focus on being the best we can be today and then being better tomorrow.
Ninety percent of our season remains and that is more than enough time to reach the goals we set for ourselves. We are bent, but not broken, and very determined to get back on track.

sad he even has to do this. He’s had the reigns for a few years now, come on. The league is design around parity, it’s designed so the talent differential is minimal. How do you spend to the cap, 5th highest payroll in the league and the only 2 forward names worth their weight are Carter and Nash, your best D-man is overpayed number 2 guy and NO ONE in net.
I think Nash’s leadership is a HUGE issue and I love Prospal called the team out for running through practice like a joke. The new guy, not Nash, called out the team and it’s bad fundamentals. Then you have Howson you had to run his offseason plans by Nash to make sure he approved…. wtf…. There are definitely problems in Columbus but don’t act like we don’t know where the issues are. Who has a goaltender struggle for two years after 1 good rookie season and not make an effort what-so-ever to improve the position or his backup? Bet they’re wishing they’d have made a play for Emery about now. Just blows my mind how inept this management team has been and continues to be, regardless of GM. Whether it’s been McLean OR Howson.

There’s no quit, but there’s no win, either.

There may not be much quitting in Columbus, but there sure will be a lot of firing in Columbus.

‘Plus, if we quit, we can’t continue to pick up our paychecks every 2 weeks.’
