Now The Devils Need To Move Some Salary

from Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Sun,
The Devils must shed about $3.5-$4 million (all terms US) if they’re going to get under the NHL’s $59.4-million cap.
While the Devils would like to get out from underneath veteran winger Brian Rolston’s $5-million cap hit for the next two seasons, the 37-year-old can’t have his contract buried in the minors.
That means New Jersey defenceman Bryce Salvadore, 34, who makes $2.9 million, and winger Dainius Zubrus, 32, scheduled to make $3.2 million per season through 2012-13, are going to be targets.
If they can’t be dealt, they could be sent to the AHL.
A league source said Saturday the only way Lamoriello might be able to deal one — or both players — is if he’s willing to package up high draft picks that will make it palatable for other teams to take the contracts.

Wouldn’t shock me to see Dean Lombardi try to bring one of the Devils forwards to LA. Since he missed out on Kovalchuk and only managed to “replace” Frolov’s production with Ponikarovsky’s production, the glaring problem of goal scoring still remains in LA. But would the price tag for one of NJ’s forwards be too high?

Mafia Lou is in Deep Kimchee !!! No One is going to take those TURDS to help him out & he doesn’t want to trade Zajac Understandably so !! Zajac is very underrated
2 Ego Maniacs put Lou in this position, Kovalchoke & Vandebeek his owner

Hey, Paul, can you tell us exactly when we can begin blocking posters?
It will be a breath of fresh air when we no longer have to stumble across the ignorant ramblings of “the random capitalizer” or the nonsensical blathering of bloggers like “The Link Goes To Me” any more.
IMHO, the quality of the invaluable service you offer will grow exponentially when nincompoops like these two can be removed from my everyday experience at KK.

This Kovalchuk deal and Hossas from last year just show how classy the Detroit Red Wings are compared to these other teams for trying to pull a quick one on the leagues extended contract policy. No one questioned Franzen’s and Zs contract because we do things the right way.
And to anyone from Connecticut or any Huskies out there, Thanks for the great day.
Hail to the Victors Valiant
Hail to the conquering heroes
Hail Hail to Michigan

Thanks again Uconn!!!!!

So, as a Kings fan, which one would you take between Ralston and Zubrus?
I guess you could throw Elias in there as well.

This seems like an odd move for Lamorello to make. I guess Vand wants to sell seats. If they lose he will sell less. I guess that’s the gamble.

Patrik Elias could also be moved, but it would be tough to move a 36-year-old forward with a $6 million cap hit for the next three years.
