Nylander Not Going Anywhere

From Tarik El-Bashir at Capitals Insider:

I also asked Nylander about all of the trade rumors (Vancouver, New York, New Jersey, etc.) that surfaced over the summer. He acknowledged that he heard them, but he said he’s not worried. And for good reason:

“I have a no move clause in my contract,” he said. “So it’s really up to me if I want to move. I want to stay here and I’m looking forward to the season. There’s lots of rumors about lots of players all the time.”

Bah, since when do facts get in the way of rumors? I mean, Bryan McCabe waived his so obviously all bets are off for anyone with a no movement clause, right? Right?

Yes Shane but there has never been a single reporter that’s confirmed either Nylander’s willingness to move or the Caps wanting to move him. Just baseless blogger speculation.

New York?  I’m assuming they meant the Isles, because a trade rumor having Nylander go back to the Rangers would be one of the more stupid rumors I’ve heard.
