Rachel Nichols of ESPN talks to Sean Avery about his bad boy reputation and his addiction to fashion.
Judging from Avery’s responses, it seems that it all started when he was a kid and started stealing his babysitter’s dolls…

Prediction: After his hockey career, Avery comes out of the closet and announces a new line of “Savery” cologne.

Rangers were 60-28-15 with him and 35-38-8 without him. That just proves how important his antics are. Not to mention that little fact that he can score too. He had 15 goals 33 points in 57 games last season. Thats impressive for someone who spends more time playing with dolls, calling Brodeur fat and sitting in the box than he does playing hockey.
With that said, if he were on a team I liked, I wouldn’t care what he did outside of hockey, I wouldn’t care what his sexual preferences were (although I take the man’s word when he says he’s straight, and I don’t really care what anyone’s sexual preferences are, he’s not special or anything) and if I saw him on the street, I wouldn’t make fun of him for playing with dolls, he’d probably kick my ass.

Avery is not a hockey player of any consequence. True, he is an instigator but he always crosses the line and as a result every team he has been on has traded him or refused to resign him because most of his teammates don’t want him back. Now you have the Stars paying 3.5 million this year and 4 million the next two years for a potential 20 goal scorer that spends 200 plus minutes in the penalty box. That is a hell of a gamble on the Stars behalf.
