from the CP via TSN,
Washington Capitals star Alex Ovechkin, the leading goal-scorer in the NHL and the league’s reigning MVP, left Tuesday night’s game against the Bruins after awkwardly crashing into the boards following a hook from Boston defenceman Zdeno Chara.
Ovechkin hit the boards behind the Bruins goal with his right shoulder and head, then remained motionless on the ice for about 15 seconds before rolling over and rubbing his face with his glove.
update 8:55pm, The headline now states Ovechkin Returns but the story has not been updated, so it looks like AO is back.

OMG Ovechkin is fine! U woulda thought he got shot! Seriously leave the acting to Ribeiro the rat! After all the Bruins fans went thru last year and even again this year with Patrice Bergeron and his concussions, Ovechkin over-dramatized a hook to get the penalty. Shoulda gotten a 2 min diving call and a game misconduct for bad acting! Just one person’s opinion…so don’t all jump down my throat! Til last night I was a HUGE Ovechkin fan!

hockeyfan4eva-
what are you 12? you sound ridiculous. yeah that’s what ovie was thinking, let me “dive” into the boards and hurt myself. pathetic opinion. if you watched the game they showed on the replay that he toe picked after the hook. if you were at the game you probably would have been one of those bruins fans who were booing ovie when he was on the ice.
i guess wideman overdramatized his receiving of a hit because he came back the same game as well. stop being a homer.

I really don’t think that was a dive. He’s lucky he didn’t break his collar bone.

It looks like a hook that throws him off balance, he toe picks, goes to his knees and momentum and a near frictionless surface take over from there.
@hockeyfan4eva - If that is all it takes for you to throw your supposed support of Ovechkin under the bus, you can send in your fanclub membership. The real Ovechkin fans don’t want you at meetings anyway because you eat all the cookies and your mom refuses to bring more.
