Can’t say this is a surprise… timing was right now that the deadline has passed.  John definitely seemed to have lost the confidence of his players.

Now, lets see if the issue is the coach or the leadership on the team.  I am guessing this group needs a more stern figure running things who sets things straight with no bull$hit.

When did Lou Lamoriello take over the Sens? Firing the coach down the stretch is his signature move.

Hockey1919,
That may be Lou’s move, but while his doing it last year was rather suspect, this year most people aren’t questioning the need for Murray to do it.  The Sens have been terrible as of late, despite having most of the guys back from injury.  Right move, it was a necessary evil.

LL has had it result in a cup win and Murray may just be following his precedent. Just pointing out that it is not unheard of a not necessarily a recipe for disaster. Worse yet for the Sens would have been to leave Paddock in and squander a season.

Man!  Their doldrums are worst than the Wings and the Sens were the Cup Finalists from the year before.

And if they’re calling for a stern taskmaster, who’s out there?  John Tortorella?

Wait...he has completely lost his players, too.

There’s more to this story than coaching and leadership.

That’s in addition to the lack of confidence in both goalies.

This is going to be interesting.  Murray has a past, and it is only a matter of time before he throws a player, by name, under the bus - trying to get his team going again.  That completely destroys his relationship with the other players.  The Sens may be doomed again this year.
