Panthers Still Looking To Fill Roster Spots

via Steve Gorten of the Sun-Sentinel,

Assistant general manager Randy Sexton said Wednesday he’s still talking to the agents of some available players as well as other teams about potential trades.

“We’re not going to rest in terms of improving our team,” Sexton said. “Will anything happen? I don’t know. Are we working to improve our team? Yes.”

As it stands, it appears one spot on the Panthers’ fourth line and in their third defensive pairing will be filled by a player who was not an NHL regular last season.

Sexton had left open the possibility of bringing back veteran defenseman Jassen Cullimore when the team allowed him to become an unrestricted free agent in July.
