via Rob Rossi of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review,
Chris Kunitz said last week he wanted to retire as a Penguin, and he may get that chance.
He has signed a two-year contract extension that will extend through the 2012-13 season.
His cap hit will be $3.725 million, matching the average annual salary from his current contract.

i like this guy, but i have to agree a little with Evilpens here… which almost never happens… i am surprised at his cap hit. I thought that he was slightly overpaid when he came over to the pens but figured it was a GM mistake from the Ducks side. Makes you wonder what Jordan is going to be looking for now.
I hate that kunitz has a salary more than twice of Dupuis. To me these two are comparable players on the pens team. Both fight hard along the boards, are versatile penalty killers, and can chip in offensively. Kunitz has slightly more offensive upside but not twice the salary more upside.

Wonderful!!!same cap hit & 4 years of wear & tear because of how he plays the game, But you that was a Fait Accompli because he is 1 of Sid’s chosen ones & Is a Bylsma/Shero type player
