Penguins Need Some Offensive Help

from Darren Dreger of TSN,
While there was 53 minutes of forgettable hockey for the Penguins in Game 5, the first seven minutes or so was mildly spectacular.
The was a 47-second run in the offensive zone when Evgeni Malkin, Ruslan Fedotenko and Maxime Talbot absolutely controlled the puck, controlled the play and controlled the Red Wings.
While they’ll walk away from Game 5 with those positives, the Penguins know they will have to be a more disciplined team. Things got completely unruly in the second period with dumb penalties from a team that is otherwise very disciplined.
The Penguins also need to find other players to support them offensively.

You’ll get to know that 47 seconds of offensive outburst from the Penguins real well next year, as it will be the footage used for the NHL’s commercials next year.

That’s a pretty short list of positives, Dreger.

I don’t see what is new about this. There were questions about Pittsburgh’s offensive depth before the playoffs even started, and all during the Penguins’ previous series there were numbers regarding how large a proportion of the goals were scored by either Malkin or Crosby.
Short on ideas and needed to churn out an article quickly, maybe?

Darren Dreger is an embarrassment to humanity.

...and the Pens defensive corps isn’t quite as deep as Detroit’s.
Thank you corporal obvious. (Demotion for wasting everyone’s time)
