Perrin Hopes He Is Traded

from Mike Knobler of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution,
Eric Perrin hopes to be playing for some team other than the Thrashers come Wednesday evening.
“I’d be a liar if I didn’t say that,” Perrin said after Monday’s practice. “It’s no secret things haven’t gone the way I wanted them to.”…
Now, as the 3 p.m. Wednesday trade deadline nears, Perrin hopes there’s another NHL team that remembers him that way and hasn’t forgotten the 45 points he scored last season.
“I’m disappointed I’m at this point with this organization,” said Perrin, who has 15 points this season, with five goals and 10 assists. “I thought I’d proven something, that I’d be a part of the rebuilding. I thought I deserved a better fate.”

Somewhere, John Tortorella sheds a single tear at this news. He probably did a slow-clap too.

I hate when posters have no idea what they are talking about. There was no fallout with Tampa Bay. It’s called not reaching an agreement on a new contract. He went to free agency and signed with Atlanta, believing that he would be given a chance at a bigger role. It was a two year contract, and during the first season, he exceeded expectations (45 pts for a player making 750,000 is a bargin). This season, new coach, new role, less points. Too bad that he is entering free agency with diminished numbers, but I would hardly say - “buyer beware”. Also, he won the Dan Snyder award last season - must not be too bad of a player/person.

I seem to recall Perrin having a bit of a “falling out” with the Tampa Bay organization as well. Buyer beware?
