Perry Says Nabokov Kicked Him

from Dan Wood of Ducks Blog at the OC Register,

A 1-0 loss to the San Jose Sharks wasn’t the only thing that left a sour feeling in the Ducks’ locker room Sunday night.

Ducks right wing Corey Perry accused Sharks goaltender Evgeni Nabokov of using his skate to deliver a kick to Perry’s arm after play had stopped near the San Jose net during a Ducks power-play opportunity late in the third period.

“Everything was over,” Perry said. “I was still lying there on my knees. All of a sudden, Nabokov just turned and kicked me. He rolled onto his side and kicked me with his right leg. He hit me with his toe.”…

“I didn’t kick him,” Nabokov said. “I was moving my legs to get up, to get out of there, so whatever he was saying is his problem.

“Ask him what he did.”

Even if it was a kick, it’s nothing less than what Perry deserves for a career of cheap-shotting.  Check out the youtube video of him punching a fellow OHL player who’s been tied up by the referee.  Or the Phaneuf/Getzlaf fight which was a direct result of a disgusting hit from behind perpetrated by one Corey Perry...the list goes on and on.

Yeah, that’s true Drew, but if the league wants to suspend Nabokov indefinitely, I’m okay with that… smile

Looks like Bryan Burke left an indellible impression on the Ducks.  They’re still whining as if he never left…

I just watched the higlights of the game for the first time…

When Nabakov kicked Perry, I wonder if it was on the same play where Nabakov was face down while Perry was straddling him and crosschecking him in the back several times…

Nabakov...that dirty *#$%@&…

I didn’t see Nabby kick Perry, but I definitely saw the cross checks and then the cheapshot on Nabby’s hamstring.  Perry shouldn’t be whining about a phantom kick after the stunt he pulled.  You don’t cross check anyone in the back of the leg like that; there’s no point except for intent to injure.  It’s a cheap shot.
