OTTAWA, ONTARIO—Ottawa Senators general manager Bryan Murray announced today the club has re-signed forward Peter Regin to a two-year contract.
Regin, 24, played his first full National Hockey League season with the Senators in 2009-10, contributing 29 points (13 goals, 16 assists) and 20 penalty minutes in 75 games. In six playoff contests against the Pittsburgh Penguins, he ranked first among Senators (tie) in goals with three, including the game-tying goal with less than 10 minutes remaining in the third period of Game 5, which went on to become the longest game in franchise history and a 5-4 overtime victory for Ottawa.

That could prove to be a bargain contract for Ottawa.

I agree that could be a great bargain. He was really impressive in the playoffs, not just in his 3 goals but his overall play, you just seemed to always notice when he was on the ice. If he continues like that he’s definitely a good top 6 forward. Even if it doesn’t pan out though, less than a million dollars for a good 3rd liner isn’t bad either.
