Players Deal With Trade Talk

For the player, an NHL trade can mean many things: bitter disappointment; huge stress on the family; an opportunity to establish one’s self or win a championship; the beginning of the end of a career.
But it’s easy to forget that behind all the names and numbers are human beings. Sure, some of them make more in a season than you and I do in a lifetime but they also have have wives and children and roots in the community.
Erin Morrison—wife of Vancouver Canucks centre Brendan—says the trade deadline usually means uncertainty around their household with the fan frenzy spilling over in unexpected ways.
