Before the playoffs started, KK announced a contest asking for members to guess the number of goals to be scored in this year’s playoffs, with a tie-breaker to be determined by shutouts. It turned out, we needed the tie breaker.
Results: The total number of goals scored was 456 and there were 13 shutouts. [Information verified using statistics provided by NHL.com, Yahoo! Sports and ESPN.] There was a tie for the closest guess: 455 and 457. However the winner (457) also nailed the shutouts exactly at 13.
Which means a big congratulations to Laura123! Laura will be winning a Rbk EDGE Authentic Jersey representing the NHL team of her choice.
There’s also a second prize of a 1-year electronic subscription to The Hockey News. Chosen by random draw, the winner is Solo16.
Both winners will be contacted within 48 hours. Thanks to everyone for playing..

*Our thanks to Dave82, who did a great job keeping track of the narrowing list of candidates in contention for the jersey throughout the playoffs
