Possible Bouwmeester Destinations

from Brian Biggane of the Palm Beach Post,
If a deal is made for Bouwmeester, it probably will be at or before the NHL Entry Draft being held in Montreal on Friday and Saturday.
Speculation in Philadelphia is that the Flyers would be willing to send 25-year-old right winger Joffrey Lupul to Florida in exchange for Bouwmeester’s rights….
Vancouver also is expected be in the running, and goaltender Roberto Luongo, who knows Bouwmeester well from their time in Florida, could be a selling point.
While Calgary already has a high-end young defenseman in Dion Phaneuf, there has been speculation the Flames could deal Phaneuf to Ottawa for disgruntled sniper Dany Heatley, leaving a major void on the blueline.
Edmonton is probably not in the mix because of repeated failures of other hometown products, who typically face ridiculously high expectations from the hometown fans.

most players failed except the goalies during the macT tenure as the head coach. look at guys like cole, penner, horcoff, nilson, osullivan, sanderson, lupul, shremp, and many others under achieved during his reign.

I don’t know why Philly is so interested in Bouwmeester. They already have Timonen, Coburn, Jones and Carle back there to handle the puck. I can’t see Lupul doing much for a team like Florida. I’m sure his numbers will be similar to the ones he had in Edmonton.

Flyers and Flordia were close on a deal at the trading deadline for jaybo until flordia management stepped in and blocked it thinking they were going to playoffs. paul holgremn has no bones expressing his feelings for jaybo.
lupul will be apart of this deal because flyers gm doesnt like devolpment on ice and feels he apart of the problem w/fratboy off the ice. the old city crew is getting broke up this upcoming weekend.
flyers are going to ask fratboy to start grow up

Josh - Bouwmeester is better than Timonen, Coburn, Jones and Carle, that is why Holmgren will make him a Flyer. He would improve the defense for years to come. I don’t see Panthers taking Lupul. His contract is too high, they would take a first round pick and/or Coburn.
