Nashville’s previous third jersey was a hit with many fans, but the mustard yellow color was also the butt of jokes, and the players weren’t huge proponents.
“One of the things guys didn’t like about the other third jersey was that it was really heavy,” goaltender Dan Ellis said. “It had a gray layer underneath the yellow and it got really thick and hot. That doesn’t make guys want to wear it that often.”
It appears the jersey makers got it right this time. The new version is lighter, predominantly dark blue and has a retro, traditional look with some modern day touches.
The classic-looking jersey also has a Da Vinci Code vibe to it, filled with subtle symbols that create one message.
