Preds Increase Ticket Prices

from the Tennessean,

The Predators will raise single-game ticket prices by an average of about 25 percent for the coming season, vice president Steve Violetta said Tuesday.

In addition, the team will expand on the policy of variable pricing that it started in 2006-07, meaning single-game tickets will come in three different categories — regular games, premium games and premium-plus games.

How flattering to the players! The fans aren’t being charged a price based on the quality of their own team. They’re being charged a price based on the quality of the opposition.

Oh, right. Now that I think of it, that does make sense. wink

“Premium-Plus” games...good lord.

And I know they’ve lost money, but when your franchise has the Sword of Damocles hanging over it and needs to hit that 14,000 average, seems somewhat counter-intuitive to be raising ticket prices? I see in the article they’re trying to sell more season packages, but this just seems like a kick in the face to Nashville fans who have been through a difficult summer…

tell me again why this team is in Nashville?
Gary Bettmen is a joke, a team with the talent of the pred’s wouldnt have to worry about making a 14k average based out of an arena in canada it would be sold out every night with no shortage of companys lined up for season packages and ad deals.

Uh guys, dont you get it? Their clear goal here is to NOT SELL 14000 TICKETS SO THEY CAN BREAK THE LEASE. An obvious ploy if there ever was one.

Hey, marketing geniuses! You say you’re raising the price of single games to make season tickets more attractive. Here’s a way to make season tickets more attractive : LOWER THE PRICE OF SEASON TICKETS! LOOOOL!!!!

This team is the shame of the league. Get the fukc out already.
