Prepare To Pay For 2010 Gold Medal Hockey Game

Hockey fans planning on heading to Vancouver for the 2010 Winter Olympics, the ticket prices for the Gold Medal game have been set. Prices range from $350-$775(Can).
The Seattle Times has a story up on how to get tickets for the games,

Wow, that much in Carolina? Where are your seats for the Canes? My Bruins season tickets are $51 per seat for the top row of the lower level (in the corner).

That’s it? I thought it would be over $1000.00 at least. Oh, well, much better now. I would still pay it if I can get there.

The problem’s going to be trying to get those tickets. They’ll be three times that cost on the open market.

you shouldnt have to pay anything. just general admission and then first come first serve or get your tickets ahead of time

“Should be” and “will be” are entirely different things.
No doubt they will be as difficult to get for regular hockey fans as Super Bowl tickets are for regular football fans.

The real problem with the olympics is that there will be thousands of seats filled by people who don’t even like hockey. They are just there to “experience” the Olympics. And for this reason, tickets will be gone the second they go on sale, and tickets on Ebay will be thousands of dollars.

I’m already forking out $75 a game to see the canes, the olympic gold easily has 10x value.
