Questioning Limbaugh’s Relationship With Checketts

from Adam Proteau of The Hockey News,
Let me get this straight: Ray Emery puts a picture of Mike Tyson on his goalie mask and the hockey community reacts as if Gordie Howe has been put on a worldwide no-fly list. But Blues owner Dave Checketts embarks on a professional relationship with Rush Limbaugh and nobody in the NHL bats a lash?
For those unfamiliar with Limbaugh – and in this instance, ignorance truly is bliss – he is the alleged “entertainer” for the easily entertained who recently opined, in all seriousness, that the United States ought to return to the days when African Americans were banned from sitting in the same areas of public transportation as Caucasian Americans.
You think I’m paraphrasing, or that Limbaugh’s comments were misconstrued or taken out of context?
Limbaugh’s exact quote, made on his syndicated radio show just last month: “We need segregated buses.”
A real class act, wouldn’t you say? And quite the philosophical display. I’m sure the people working on the NHL’s “Hockey Is For Everyone” initiative will appreciate it.
more and other NHL topics…

You would never expect a liberal leftist idealogue to be a hockey writer…..
................but then you have Adam Proteau.

I hate to think any hockey “fan” would think that phat phuk was being anything but facetious.
i guess as long as he doesn’t want to move a team to canada he’s ok in buttman’s eyes.

I’ve had it with Proteau. He injects his left wing bias into too many hockey articles. I read Hockey News as an escape from politics, which I follow very closely, also. I’m seeing too much of this, and as I read in a recent article, are there no “safe zones” left, free of political talk?

Libtards are born without a clue & get worse, As someone else has pointed out, HE WAS BEING FACETIOUS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I like how Proteau takes the time to write about Limbaugh,,, yet he’s more than willing to ignore Don Cherry (an actual bigot) apparently because he’s Canadian.

Say what you want about Proteau. But one thing is for sure, Limbaugh is and has always been divisive. And when he’s being facetious he knows some in his audience don’t know it and it plays to their radical right ideals. He likes to have it both ways. He gives them there red meat and still has deniability with the MSM.

Adam Proteau is a moron. His politics are beginning to infect The Hockey News enough now that the magazine is coming perilously close to being another platform for leftwing views.
It should be nothing of the sort, for Right or Left. Leave politics out of hockey.
Sad.

Agreed, but it wasn’t about them.

Limbaugh is no different than the liberal blowhards. all talk, no logic. all ideology, no practicality. all belief, no reason. throw the anarchists in with that lot too.
Honestly, Checketts seems like he could revitalize the franchise as he has done with the Blues by hiring solid management and coaching. The Rams need a couple good drafts in a row to start rebuilding. As far as Limbaugh is concerned, I think more football fans than not lean towards his mindset. So I don’t see there being much outrage from within the football world. You will see some noise from outsiders. I’d rather someone less politicized be involved but I think his interest is mostly just trying to help his hometown team rather than any hidden agenda.

I could be wrong, but I’m guessing that those of you who are calling Rush divisive and pit one group against another have rarely, if ever, actually listened to the show. I’m not talking about 20 minutes one day 2 years ago, but on a consistent basis. If you had, I’d bet you’d see him differently. Not agree with him necessarily, but you would be able to tell the difference between how he’s portrayed by liberals and the MSM and how he really is. I was listening the day he talked about segregated busses, and it was very clear, in the context of what the caller asked and how Rush responded, both in words and tone of voice, that sarcasm was dripping. If interested, one can always go to Rush’s website and read the transcript, something that Proteau obviously did not do, because that wouldn’t fit his predetermined bias.
Maybe if you actually listen to what he has to say, you might see a different side. Or, maybe not.

Why is a Canadian writer trying to comment on American politics in a hockey column. So should Sporting News discuss PM Harper’s use of hockey as pseudo nationalism in Canada? of course not. Speak about things you might possibly know and leave your politics out of hockey!

Dear God, do you people actually read what you write before you click “Submit”?
And, yes, Limbaugh is a complete moron, no matter what you support.

And become a dittohead.
No thanx, I like to make up my OWN mind.
And not have someone else do it for me.
